Lazio in Talks for Napoli Winger Politano

Lazio are reportedly in talks with Napoli for winger Matteo Politano, their second-choice pick to bolster the frontline.

The Biancocelesti’s top attacking target this summer was Sassuolo talisman Domenico Berardi, but the Neroverdi’s firm €30 million price tag pushed the club to start considering other options.

One name that has cropped up in multiple reports is Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini, who could be a good fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system at Lazio, but he is not the preferred alternative.

Alfredo Pedulla details how Lazio’s second-choice pick to strengthen their attack this summer is Politano, and talks are now ongoing with Napoli.

The deal would cost around €15-17 million including add-ons and club president Claudio Lotito believes that the 29-year-old Italian winger would be worth the investment. He has two years left on his contract with the Partenopei.

Last season, Politano scored four goals and provided four assists in 37 total appearances for Napoli, seeing just 1626 minutes of action, mostly playing a backup role under Luciano Spalletti.
