Lazio have identified Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski as their top replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and a new round of talks are expected to take place soon.
The Biancocelesti are currently working on selling the Serbian star to Saudi side Al-Hilal, who are reportedly willing to pay €40 million for the 28-year-old.
Milinkovic-Savic has agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal, reported to be worth around €20 million net per season, and things could be finalised at some point this week.
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, once Lazio have completed the sale of Milinkovic-Savic, they’ll look to try and find an agreement with Napoli for Zielinski.
The Polish midfielder will not sign a new deal in the Campania capital. He was offered a new contract that lowered his salary from the current €3.5 million net, causing talks to collapse.
Lazio were in contact with Napoli last week to discuss the terms of a deal for Zielinski, where the Partenopei set a price of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
After selling Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio will start a new round of talks and they’re hoping to negotiate a lower price, around €20 million plus add-ons.
Looking ahead, Lotito there is absolutely no time to waste and I’m not saying it out of impatience, not at all. The reason is a team really becomes a team when they play together, train socialise etc so we need them together asap to gel in and do everything out of instinct so time is crucial.
Ps:I’ll keep repeating the question till we have something: what’s the situation with our new home Lotito? Are we moving before the 130th Lazio anniversary?
