Lazio have identified Lazar Samardzic as one of their top options to strengthen the midfield as they prepare to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 28-year-old Serbian star is on the verge of officially completing his €43 million total transfer to Al-Hilal, where he’ll sign a three-year contract worth around €20 million net per season plus add-ons.

Once Lazio have sold Milinkovic-Savic, they’ll be able to start making serious moves in the summer transfer window, wanting to pick up four or five reinforcements.

As reported by Il Tempo (via LazioNews24), Lazio identified Samardzic as an exciting midfield reinforcement at the start of last month and are now gearing up to make a move for the Udinese talent.

The Friulian side want around €30 million for the 21-year-old Serbian midfielder, but the Biancocelesti are hoping to agree a deal for around €20 million plus easily achievable add-ons.

Inter and Napoli have also both been linked with Samardzic in recent weeks, setting up some tough competition for Lazio.
