Milinkovic-Savic Era at Lazio Draws to a Close

After eight unforgettable years, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is finally ready to leave Lazio as he undergoes his medicals with Al-Hilal.

The 28-year-old Serbian star has accepted a three-year deal with the Saudi Arabian side, worth around €20 million net per season plus add-ons.

Al-Hilal will pay Lazio around €43 million including add-ons for Milinkovic-Savic, who’ll become the latest well-known European player to head to the Saudi Pro League.

Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how Milinkovic-Savic will undergo the usual pre-transfer medicals with Al-Hilal at a clinic in Austria today. Assuming everything goes to plan, he’ll put pen to paper on his three-year contract, bringing his time at Lazio to an end.

Milinkovic-Savic quietly grew into one of the best midfielders in the world during his eight-year spell in the Italian capital and was a fan favourite amongst supporters, who appreciated his abilities, his professionalism, and his loyalty.

During his time with Lazio, the Serbian midfielder made 341 appearances across all competitions, scoring 69 goals and providing 59 assists.

He helped the club win a Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana titles, as well as achieving Champions League qualification twice.
