Lazio have reportedly submitted an offer to FC Metz for talented Georgian forward Georges Mikautadze.
The Biancocelesti are still on the hunt for a new backup striker, needing some cover for captain Ciro Immobile. The role has been left vacant following the relatively recent departures of Felipe Caicedo and Vedat Muriqi.
Lazio were working to pick up Santos striker Marcos Leonardo, but things have fallen quiet in recent weeks, suggesting a stall in negotiations between the two clubs.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have identified Mikautadze as a strong option to play backup to Immobile, so have submitted an offer to Metz.
The 22-year-old shined in Ligue 2 last season, scoring 23 goals and providing eight assists in 37 league appearances, playing a key role in their successful bid for promotion.
No details regarding the costs or formula of the offer have emerged yet, but updates are expected in the coming days. The Georgian forward is contracted to Metz until June 2026.
