Lazio have reportedly agreed a deal with Valentin Castellanos and are close to finding an agreement with New York City FC.
The Biancocelesti have been searching for a new backup striker, needing to provide captain Ciro Immobile with some reliable cover up front.
A number of options have been considered, like Santos’ Marcos Leonardo and Juventus’ Arkadiusz Milik, but in recent days Castellanos has emerged as an intriguing target.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have agreed personal terms with Castellanos and are now working on closing out a deal with New York City, who are expected to receive around €15 million plus around €5 million in add-ons.
Minor details remain but a total agreement is expected to be reached in the coming days, allowing him to quickly integrate into the squad during the pre-season training camp.
Castellanos spent last season on loan with Spanish side Girona, where he scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 37 total appearances.
