Lazio are ready to make Valentin Castellanos their first summer signing and the New York City striker will soon undergo his medicals in Rome.
The 24-year-old Argentine has been chosen to be the Biancocelesti’s new centre forward, adding some depth to the frontline and giving some cover to club captain Ciro Immobile.
Lazio have already agreed a deal with New York City FC, willing to pay around €15 million plus €5 million in add-ons for Castellanos, who has agreed to a five-year contract worth €1.8 million net per season.
As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Castellanos will undergo his pre-transfer medicals at the Paideia clinic in Rome at 8am local time on Monday July 17, before signing his contract and heading up to join the Lazio squad in Auronzo di Cadore.
He will then start integrating into Maurizio Sarri’s squad next week, giving him time to start adapting and preparing for the 2023-24 season.
