Lazio have reportedly presented their first offer to Napoli for midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is Maurizio Sarri’s primary target.
The Biancocelesti coach is keen to welcome some new reinforcements in the coming weeks, concerned about the squad following the sale of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and lack of incoming players.
Valentin Castellanos is set to be Lazio’s first signing of the summer transfer window and Sarri hopes to welcome three or four other players before the start of the season, which kicks off next month.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Lazio have offered Napoli around €18m total for Zielinski, which was swiftly rejected by Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The Partenopei president is hoping to receive around €30m for the 29-year-old Polish midfielder, whose contract expires in June 2024.
Contract renewal talks have not progressed and Zielinski would be happy to make the move to Lazio, linking back up with Sarri after their experiences together at Empoli and Napoli.
