Lazio had their first taste of action in their pre-season training camp when they thrashed local side CS Auronzo 16-0 in a friendly.
The Biancocelesti arrived at the idyllic Venetian village earlier this week to start their pre-season preparations under Maurizio Sarri, working to improve on their successes in the 2022-23 campaign.
Lazio have not officially completed any new signings yet this summer but will soon welcome New York City striker Valentin Castellanos, who’ll immediately start working with the squad after signing his five-year contract.
Sarri’s side had no trouble at all in their pre-season friendly win over Auronzo, dominating their opposition. Elseid Hysaj opened the scoring after just two minutes before Ciro Immobile got in on the action a quarter of an hour later, netting a quick brace. He’d complete his hattrick before half time.
Pedro also scored twice and Mattia Zaccagni found his way on the scoresheet as well, as did Mohamed Fares, Nicolo Casale, young talent Sana Fernandes, Diego Gonzalez, Jean Daniel Akpa-Akpro and Valerio Crespi. Toma Basic closed out the win with a brace in the final 10 minutes.
