Sarri Concerned With Immobile Rumours & Slow Lazio Work

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is reportedly starting to grow anxious amidst the rumours surrounding Ciro Immobile and the club’s slow work in the transfer market.

Recent reports have suggested that multiple Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in picking up the 33-year-old Italian striker this summer, tempting him with a lucrative multi-year contract.

Lazio already sold Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al-Hilal this month but have not been active in the transfer market, although they’re about to complete their first signing of the window – striker Valentin Castellanos from New York City FC.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri is worried that Lazio could end up selling Immobile this summer, should a convincing offer arrive from the Saudi Pro League.

He spoke to president Claudio Lotito on the phone on Saturday and there was tension between the two, with the coach frustrated that no new players have joined the squad yet.

No offers for Immobile have arrived yet but that could change in the coming weeks, concerning Sarri, who still believes the striker to be a central part of his project at the club.
