Lazio have missed out on a deal for key target Milos Kerkez, who left AZ Alkmaar for Bournemouth.
The Biancocelesti had been keeping an eye on the 19-year-old Hungarian left back for months, impressed by his work in their Conference League meeting, and opened talks for him in the early stages of the summer.
Multiple reports suggested that Lazio had agreed personal terms with Kerkez, but they failed to agree a deal with AZ Alkmaar, not willing to match the €15m asking price. The Biancocelesti offered a €2.5 million loan deal with an €11 million obligation to buy clause attached.
As confirmed today, Kerkez has now signed a long-term contract with Bournemouth, joining for an undisclosed fee.
Lazio have been quiet in the summer and haven’t completed any signings yet, although New York City’s Valentin Castellanos is expected to officially arrive soon. The situation has reportedly started to cause Maurizio Sarri some anxiety.
This pattern always happens to Lazio, Lotito thinks the prices of the players are still the same as twenty years ago. With such attitude, it is likely that Lazio will be heavily punished in the group stage of UCL.
allways the same.. we work WAY to slow on the transfer marked.. jesus…
I’m gutted. I expected him to arrive in Auronzo soon, seeing this I feel let down. Lotito I don’t understand you…it was not out of our reach yet we lost him 😐
Every summer is the same. We have hopes, but nothing changes. Parisi to Fiore, Kerkez to Bournemouth, Zeki Amdouni to Burnley, Okafor and Cheek to milan. These are players we were linked with but they signed with other clubs.
