Lazio have reportedly opened talks with free agent Daichi Kamada to start exploring a possible move this summer.
The 26-year-old Japanese forward, who can play in a more attacking or central position in the midfield, is currently a free agent after his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt drew to a close at the start of this month.
Kamada was heavily linked with a move to Milan and even agreed personal terms with the club, but they decided to focus their efforts on Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze instead, only having one non-EU player slot available.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito is keen on the idea of picking up Kamada on a free transfer this summer, so has decided to make an approach to his entourage.
Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are both also keen to pick up the 26-year-old, but Lazio want to explore a move regardless, even if Maurizio Sarri isn’t entirely convinced about the player.
