Lazio Give Up on Deal for Chelsea Winger Hudson-Odoi

Lazio have reportedly decided not to make a move for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.

The Biancocelesti are in the market for a new winger and have considered a long list of possible options in recent weeks, including Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi and Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini.

Almost a month since the summer transfer window opened, Lazio have only completed one signing so far – striker Valentin Castellanos from New York City FC. The slow progress has caused concerns for both Maurizio Sarri and the supporters.

As highlighted by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have decided to give up on signing Hudson-Odoi this summer, identifying multiple reasons why a deal is too great a risk.

Despite the fact that the 22-year-old is now considered an EU citizen by the FIGC following a recent ruling, there are concerns regarding his injury history and poor form in recent years.

The Lazio management are also concerned about his physical fitness and weight following a miserable season on loan with Bayer Leverkusen, so have decided not to take the risk.

  1. Like they didn’t know that before reaching out to the player and initiating contact. This club transfer market is a joke.
We can’t sell and we can’t buy players due to the incompetence of the people handling the transfers.

  2. I agree Glenn, we sre heading into the wrong direction. Sell the club Lotito, you did your best.
    It’s time

  3. I don’t know why Hudson-Odoi is considered to be an interesting target. His numbers don’t impress at all. And what happened with Orsolini deal? I was kind of happy that Lazio are focusing on Italian players unlike other big clubs in Italy.

    1. Well that focus landed us what exactly? Taty eho is Argentinian and no one, repeat, no one else.

We are a laughing stock unless we bring in 2-3 players fast but Lotito is warming his Senate seat not the Formello one…
