Tension Builds at Lazio Between Sarri & Lotito

Tension is continuing to build between Maurizio Sarri and Claudio Lotito as Lazio remain quiet in the summer transfer window.

The Biancocelesti secured an unexpected second-place finish in Serie A last season, putting them back in the Champions League for the first time in three years.

Sarri made it clear that he wanted four or five new players to arrive this summer, allowing Lazio to truly compete on multiple fronts in the coming campaign.

After almost a month, the Roman club have only picked up one player so far – striker Valentin Castellanos from New York City FC.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri is growing increasingly tense as the weeks go by, concerned that he won’t have the necessary tools to fight with Lazio next season. He is waiting for a new meeting with Lotito to discuss the market.

The Italian coach made his feelings clear when speaking to the squad at the end of their pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, saying: “I’ve never found a squad like this. I’m staying for you. You deserve it because you have given me everything in this training camp.”
