Valentin Castellanos is settling into life at Lazio and is keen to prove himself to coach Maurizio Sarri.
The 24-year-old Argentinian striker is the Biancocelesti’s only signing of the summer transfer window so far, joining from New York City FC in a deal worth around €20m total.
Castellanos impressed whilst on loan at Girona last season, netting 14 goals in 37 total games, and he’s not looking to slow down any time soon.
As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Castellanos is not yet considered a starter at Lazio by Sarri, being behind Ciro Immobile in the pecking order, but he’s keen to prove his abilities to his new coach.
In the two days off given to the squad recently, the Argentinian striker carried out individual training exercises, keen to catch up with his teammates.
Hopes are high for the 24-year-old, who scored 59 goals and provided 24 assists in 134 total appearances for New York City.
