Lazio Move Away From Juventus Left Back Pellegrini

Lazio have decided not to make a move for Luca Pellegrini this summer, despite Juventus’ openness to a loan deal.

The 24-year-old Italian left back joined the Biancocelesti on a six-month loan deal from Turin in January and struggled to make a strong impact in Maurizio Sarri’s squad, receiving limited chances.

Despite his fairly unconvincing six-month spell in Rome, Lazio were interested in bringing Pellegrini back for another season and opened a new round of talks with Juventus.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), despite Sarri’s requests, Lazio have decided to give up on a deal for Pellegrini, closing the negotiations with Juventus.

The Bianconeri were willing to accept a new loan deal with an €8 million buy option and even pay a large portion of his €3m net per season salary, but the Biancocelesti have chosen to switch focus to other targets regardless.

Lazio are still expected to complete a few more deals before the end of the summer transfer window, wanting a new winger, midfielder and left back.
