Lazio Reopen Talks With AZ Alkmaar Winger Karlsson

Lazio have reportedly reignited their interest in AZ Alkmaar winger Jesper Karlsson and reopened talks.

The Biancocelesti have looked incredibly unconvincing in the summer transfer window, causing tension and anxiety for both Maurizio Sarri and the club’s supporters.

Only one player has arrived so far – striker Valentin Castellanos from New York City – and no replacement has been picked up yet for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who was sold to Al-Hilal for €42 million.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have decided to reignite their interest in Karlsson and have contacted his agents to start discussing a possible move.

The Roman club first contacted the 25-year-old Swedish winger’s entourage a few weeks ago before switching focus to other targets, but now they’re keen to make a move again.

Last season, Karlsson scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 33 total appearances for AZ Alkmaar, including a goal and three assists in the two Conference League clashes with Lazio.
