Roma Eye Move for Marcos Leonardo After Lazio Move Away

Roma have decided to make a move for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo, who was recently a key target of Lazio.

The Biancocelesti were seriously interested in making a move for the talented 20-year-old last month and submitted a concrete offer to the Brazilian club, willing to pay around €12 million, a little below the €15 million asking price.

Lazio ultimately decided to move away and switched focus to Valentin Castellanos, paying New York City FC around €20 million total for the 24-year-old.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are now working on a deal for Marcos Leonardo and have received the green light from the player.

The Giallorossi are in the market for a new centre forward, only having Andrea Belotti available following the serious injury suffered by Tammy Abraham in the closing stages of last season.

Lazio are now focusing their efforts on a deal for Torino talent Samuele Ricci, who has €30m price tag.
