Lotito: ‘Luis Alberto Must Apologise to Lazio’

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is furious with Luis Alberto and is preparing to fine the Spanish midfielder.

The 30-year-old has been at the centre of attention in Formello in recent days due to disputes regarding his new contract. Whilst terms have largely been agreed, like his salary and the length of the deal, his request for a €140,000 signing bonus has angered the club.

Luis Alberto did not travel with the Lazio squad for their pre-season friendly against Aston Villa and was absent from training in Formello yesterday.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are furious with Luis Alberto and they’re preparing a hefty fine for him, not wanting his situation to have a domino effect in the squad.

Lotito expects an apology from the Spanish midfielder, telling the Roman newspaper: “He absolutely must apologize and I don’t know if that’s enough now.”

Acting sporting director Angelo Fabiani is now working hard to resolve the situation and updates are expected in the coming days.

  1. Lotito, please don’t cause any more drama, just pay the money and get the contract signed. You are far from being done in the market.

  2. Sell the guy…. Enough of the mutiny… he wants to leave. Sell him to Al- hilal and let’s raise funds to buy a new star
