Hellas Verona and Empoli have both emerged to compete for unneeded Lazio midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro.
The 30-year-old Ivorian midfielder is not part of Maurizio Sarri’s project in the Italian capital and spent last season on loan with Empoli, where he scored one goal and provided one assist across 24 total appearances.
Akpa Akpro returned to the Lazio environment this summer and joined the squad for the pre-season retreat to Auronzo di Cadore, but is still not considered part of the project in Rome.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Hellas Verona and Empoli are both looking to sign Akpa Akpro this summer, and Lazio are now waiting for concrete offers.
The Biancocelesti have set a €5 million price tag on the 30-year-old and are also open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.
Akpa Akpro made 55 appearances for Lazio since his arrival from Salernitana in September 2020 and is contracted to the club for another two years.
