Empoli Agree Deals for Lazio Duo Cancellieri & Akpa Akpro

Empoli have reportedly agreed deals with Lazio for midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and forward Matteo Cancellieri.

The Biancocelesti have recently started to speed up in the summer transfer market following a recent meeting between coach Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito. Daichi Kamada and Gustav Isaksen were recently added to the squad and more work is ongoing.

Lazio are also working on deals for a new midfielder, possibly Nicolo Rovella, and a new left back, like Luca Pellegrini. In the meantime, they’re also pushing to trim the fat from their squad.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Empoli have reached an agreement with Lazio for both Akpa Akpro and Cancellieri. The former is returning to Tuscany after spending last season on loan there, whilst the latter is leaving Rome after an unconvincing season.

Empoli have agreed to sign Cancellieri on a €1 million loan deal with a buy option attached, set at around €8-9 million. A buy-back clause is also expected to be included. No details have emerged regarding the conditions of Akpa Akpro’s move.
