Lazio are in close contact with Leonardo Bonucci and Maurizio Sarri is open to working with the Juventus defender.

The 36-year-old Italian centre back has been rather unceremoniously frozen out of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad in Turin, not joining the squad for their pre-season tour to the United States.

Juventus are looking to lower their wage bill and Bonucci is one of the highest earners, so the club are keen to get him off their books a year before his contract expires.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio are one of the clubs interested in signing Bonucci this summer and were in direct contact with his entourage on Monday night.

His priority is to stay in Italy, giving the Biancocelesti a boost over rivals Union Berlin. The 36-year-old has asked the German side to wait a few days for his decision.

Sarri has given Lazio the green light for the move, willing to work with Bonucci again after their single season together at Juventus.

  1. I hope he kept fit and is at his peak condition whatever that means. At the end of the day he is a CB, the least impacted by age field player.

One that I clearly respect, like and definitely rate. The only thing is that he must accept that the starting duo is Alessio and Casale (for now at least). And we need him for all his European experience because Patric and Gila even though I like, I would also like to not need to resort to them in CL. Coppa italia and Serie A smaller sides ok, but let’s face it they are not CL level yet.

Ps: I saw over 28.5k season ticket buys and could reach 30k by the start of the season.

Ps2: Am I the only one that has the vibes of the season when cov!d struck and Fabrizio left us(murd3r3d) and we’ve beaten Juve twice (once for 🏆 in Ryadh 3-1) and in the Serie A also 3-1 if I’m not mistaken, very close to them in 2nd place, that we can achieve something special? Let me know coz I am proper buzzing ‼️

    1. By season tickets and me knowing that there will be close to 60k(if not more) on the debut match present supporting Lazio at the Olimpico that should inspire Lotito to do more and give us that new stadium we dream of. The guy is in the zone so let’s see, I can’t stop but feel enthusiastic for the future. The marketing is decent too, there will be asian brothers who will increase the community and grow Lazio even further. Good times

  2. I am getting excited now if we get Bonucci like Burky said if he is in fit and in good condition he will be a really good squad player and improve our depth in defence which is important for champions league.
