Hellas Verona Eye Move for Lazio Midfielder Basic

Hellas Verona are reportedly interested in making a move for Lazio midfielder Toma Basic this month.

The 26-year-old Croatian midfielder has struggled to show his best in the Italian capital following his move from Bordeaux two years ago, seeing just 2308 minutes of action across 69 total appearances.

Basic appears to be increasingly on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri’s project in Rome and changes could be on the horizon.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Hellas Verona are interested in picking up Basic this summer but are aware that they wouldn’t be able to match his salary at Lazio, making a deal difficult to achieve. Despite this, they’ll try regardless, fans of his characteristics and playstyle.

Lazio have picked up Daichi Kamada and Nicolo Rovella this summer, having lost Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al-Hilal, and Basic may struggle for consistent minutes with the increased competition for a starting spot.

The 26-year-old has scored two goals and provided two assists across his 69 appearances.

    1. I agree that there is a player there and I think your wish will come true and it will be a loan with option to buy that they might not afford.
