Lazio Offer for Feyenoord Talent Wieffer Rejected

Lazio submitted an offer to Feyenoord for talented midfielder Mats Wieffer but it was swiftly rejected.

The Biancocelesti have recently accelerated in the summer transfer window and have welcomed multiple players in recent weeks, ranging from Daichi Kamada and Gustav Isaksen to Luca Pellegrini and Nicolo Rovella.

Lazio are still looking to make a few more changes in the middle of the pitch, hoping to find new homes for Toma Basic and Marcos Antonio, so they’re still keeping an eye on the midfield market.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio prepared a €15 million offer for Wieffer plus an unnamed player in exchange, but it was rejected by Feyenoord, who consider the 23-year-old far too important to let leave this summer.

The Dutch midfielder, who is contracted to the Eredivisie outfit until June 2027, saw over 2400 minutes of action across 37 total appearances last season, where he scored three goals and provided seven assists.

Lazio have now moved away to other targets and the latest on their list is Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic, who failed to complete a transfer to Inter recently.
