Lazio Set Sights on Marseille Midfielder Guendouzi

Lazio have started to consider a move for Olympique Marseille’s Matteo Guendouzi as they look to bolster their midfield.

The Biancocelesti are prepared to make a few more changes to their midfield department, possibly selling Marcos Antonio to PAOK and Toma Basic, who has attracted attention from Hellas Verona.

Lazio have opened talks with Udinese for Lazar Samardzic and have learnt that a deal would cost around €18 million plus Basic, leading to reflections in Rome. Personal terms may also be difficult to reach, something Inter discovered recently.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio have also started to consider a move for Guendouzi, who is considered a perfect fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system in the Italian capital.

Marseille are open to selling the 24-year-old French midfielder, who has two years left on his contract, and value him at around €18-20 million including add-ons.

Last season, Guendouzi scored five goals and provided five assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, seeing 2919 minutes of action.

  1. Any of the two or both.

Things to consider: 1-sell to Verona if serious, and use the money rather then player included(if the valuation of Basic by Verona is higher then the one Udine make)
2-if you do sell Marcos Antonio and Toma it seems to me that you must fill two roles, however they both would be clear upgrades so I would immensely welcome this and consider the upgrade we lacked in aspiring to compete on all fronts and so called taking the step up
3-we are playing tomorrow so the decisions must be as quick and smart as possible and believe it or not I have an odd sudden belief Lotito will pull it of.
4-if Udinese consider Basic a direct replacement for Samardzic then forget my nr1 point…

I can’t wait to see the Laziali at Lecce it will ve epic if the lads perform on the pitch 🙏
