Lazio Ready to Sign Salernitana Goalkeeper Sepe

Lazio are ready to welcome Luigi Sepe and have set up the Salernitana goalkeeper’s pre-transfer medicals.

The Biancocelesti have been in the market for a new backup goalkeeper following their sale of Luis Maximiano to Almeria, cutting their losses on the Portuguese shot stopper following his disastrous debut season.

Lazio were considering a move for Tottenham veteran Hugo Lloris but he was unconvinced about the idea of being a second-string option, pushing the club to move to alternative targets.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio and Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio have agreed to sign Sepe from Salernitana on a €500,000 loan deal with no permanence clause attached. The Granata will contribute to paying his €1 million net per season wages.

The 32-year-old, who made 18 appearances last season before losing his starting spot to Guillermo Ochoa, will undergo his medicals at the Paideia clinic in Rome today before putting pen to paper on his contract.
