PAOK Talks With Lazio for Marcos Antonio Stall

PAOK Thessaloniki have been negotiating for Marcos Antonio but talks with Lazio have hit a roadblock.

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth around €10m and he struggled to impress in his debut season.

Marcos Antonio didn’t manage to convince Maurizio Sarri and only saw 763 minutes of action across 22 total appearances for Lazio, disappointing with his lack of physicality and lacklustre defensive work.

As highlighted by LazioNews24, PAOK have been hoping to sign Marcos Antonio from Lazio for around €4 million but this is far off the midfielder’s price tag.

The Biancocelesti are demanding at least €9 million for the 23-year-old and want the deal to be a loan with an obligation to buy clause attached.

The Brazilian’s agent was in Formello this week to try and find an agreement, but his efforts were fruitless and now the deal is at real risk of collapsing.

  1. We must have a concrete offer for Basic(or at least a more advanced one)if we aren’t budging on our valuation that clearly underperformed so his value should have dropped.

Whatever happen, I wanna see Geundouzi play for us, we need that dynamic workhorse with sufficient experience in the middle ahead of the defenders. Lucas Leiva was never really replaced and altough Cataldi was a decent solution, we need more after SMS left.
