Details Behind Marcos Antonio Transfer to PAOK

Marcos Antonio has travelled to Thessaloniki to undergo his medicals with PAOK as he completes his transfer from Lazio.

The Biancocelesti have decided to cut the 23-year-old Brazilian from their squad after his unconvincing debut season in the Italian capital, where he only saw 763 minutes of action across 22 total appearances.

Whilst there are no doubts about Marcos Antonio’s technical abilities, his poor physicality meant he wasn’t a great fit for Maurizio Sarri’s three-man midfield.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, PAOK will sign Marcos Antonio from Lazio on a €500,000 loan deal with a €6 million buy option attached. A 15% future resale clause has been included and the Greek side will cover the entirety of his wages.

The Brazilian midfielder will carry out his medicals in Thessaloniki today before putting pen to paper on his contract with PAOK.

Lazio have already picked up multiple midfielders this summer, signing Daichi Kamada and Nicolo Rovella, and Matteo Guendouzi is also ready to arrive from Olympique Marseille.
