Official: Guendouzi Joins Lazio From Olympique Marseille

Lazio have officially announced the arrival of Matteo Guendouzi, who is joining on a definitive transfer from Olympique Marseille.

The Biancocelesti have signed the 24-year-old Frenchman on a €1 million loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached, worth €12 million with €5 million in add-ons and a 10% future resale clause.

Guendouzi has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Lazio, understood to be worth around €2.5 million net per season plus add-ons.

As announced today, Guendouzi has now been officially registered for Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad, allowing him to start integrating into the team.

The 24-year-old is unlikely to make his debut in the Biancocelesti’s upcoming clash with Napoli on 2nd September, although there’s a chance he could make a cameo appearance off the bench.

During his two years with Marseille, Guendouzi scored 10 goals and provided 19 assists across 103 total appearances, looking a good fit for Sarri’s three-man midfield.
