Lazio will face Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, and Celtic in Group E of the Champions League this season following the draw today at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon.
The Biancocelesti secured an unexpected second-place finish in Serie A last campaign, qualifying them for Europe’s premier club competition following a two-season absence.
The last time Lazio competed in the Champions League, back in the 2020-21 campaign, the team finished second in their group before falling to Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 in a 6-2 aggregate loss.
The club have been hard at work in the summer transfer window, adding multiple reinforcements to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in order to give him the resources necessary to compete in both Serie A and the Champions League.
UEFA completed their Champions League group stage draw at their headquarters in Nyon this evening, confirming that Lazio will face Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, and Celtic in Group E.
The group stage games will be played on 19th & 20th September, 3rd & 4th October, 24th & 25th October, 7th & 8th November, 28th & 29th November, 12th & 13th December.
