Lazio Debate Last-Minute Move for Man Utd Outcast Greenwood

Lazio have opened talks Mason Greenwood as they consider a last-minute move for the controversial Manchester United forward.

The 21-year-old Englishman has not played a competitive football match since January 2022, being sidelined after serious accusations of sexual assault and domestic violence. Audio, video and screenshots were shared online, and the player was arrested amidst an investigation.

In October 2022, Greenwood was handed serious charges, but the Criminal Prosecution Service decided to drop these a few months later due to ‘the withdrawal of key witnesses’.

Manchester United were reportedly planning to reintegrate him into the squad before widespread public backlash, and he’s now looking around for a new home.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have opened talks with Greenwood to explore a last-minute deal and the 21-year-old is open to making the move to the Italian capital.

Coach Maurizio Sarri still hasn’t given a green light and the clock is ticking, with the Serie A summer transfer window set to close at 20.00 local time today.
