After making an initial approach last night, Lazio have reportedly decided not to move forward for Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood.
The 21-year-old Englishman is searching for a new club following the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision not to continue pressing charges against him for alleged sexual assault and domestic violence.
Greenwood has not played a competitive match since January 2022 and was seemingly on track to being reintegrated into the Manchester United squad before a sudden U-turn due to severe public outcry.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio approached Greenwood to start exploring a possible last-minute move last night but have now decided not to pick up the English winger.
The first reason is due to the obvious PR impact that would’ve came with the signing, and the second is because coach Maurizio Sarri is not convinced by either the player’s character or his match fitness following an 18-month period on the sidelines.
