Nine Lazio Players Away on International Duty

Nine Lazio players have been called up by their respective national teams for the September international break.

The Biancocelesti have looked painfully inconsistent in the early weeks of the 2023-24 season, suffering frustrating losses to Lecce and Genoa before pulling off an unexpected away win to Napoli, showing both positive and negative signs.

Lazio are also gearing up for their first Champions League campaign in two years, which’ll kick off later this month against Atletico Madrid. Their group also contains Feyenoord and Celtic, setting up a tough but entirely possible test for Maurizio Sarri’s side.

As announced by the club, nine Lazio players have now left Rome to join their respective national teams. The rest of the squad will stay behind to continue training with Sarri and his staff at Formello.

The nine players currently on international duty are: Daichi Kamada, Elseid Hysaj, Ciro Immobile, Ivan Provedel, Mattia Zaccagni, Alessio Romagnoli, Nicolo Casale, Adam Marusic and Diego Gonzalez.
