Juventus winger Federico Chiesa may be forced to miss out on the upcoming clash with Lazio after suffering an injury on international duty.
The 25-year-old was called up by Luciano Spalletti for Italy’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine, giving him the chance to show his best for the Azzurri following his strong start to the season.
Chiesa scored in Juventus’ wins over Udinese and Empoli, looking to finally be in a run of rich form following last year’s cruciate ligament rupture, but now he’s been forced out of action again.
As confirmed today, Chiesa was forced to withdraw from the Italy squad after suffering a muscle injury in training. He’ll return to Turin to undergo treatment with Juventus.
Lazio will travel to the Piedmont capital for the clash with the Bianconeri on 16th September and Chiesa could be forced to watch from the sidelines, depending on the severity of his injury.
