Romagnoli Rejected Juventus Before Joining Lazio

Alessio Romagnoli reportedly turned down an offer from Juventus before deciding to sign for Lazio last year.

The 28-year-old Italian centre back joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer in July 2022 after his contract with Milan expired, ending a seven-year association with the club. His arrival was much-anticipated due to his open support of the Roman side.

Romagnoli has immediately proven himself to be one of the most important parts of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad and his work in Rome saw him return to the Italy national team after years out of the fold.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Juventus were interested in signing Romagnoli after he left Milan on a free transfer, but he rejected the approach, only wanting to join his boyhood club Lazio.

The Italian defender saw over 3500 minutes of action across 42 total appearances in his debut season with the Biancocelesti, proving himself after a difficult end to life with the Rossoneri. He is contracted to the club until June 2027.
