Luis Alberto Proves to Be Only Lazio Bright Spot in Loss to Juventus

Luis Alberto was the only redeeming factor for Lazio in their painful 3-1 loss to Juventus, proving himself to be the star of the squad.

The 30-year-old Spaniard, who recently committed his future to the club in a new deal, grew even more important to Maurizio Sarri this summer after the sale of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Lazio midfielder has started the season well despite the team’s sluggish performances and he continued his hard work on a difficult evening in Turin.

Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) highlighted how Luis Alberto stood out as the leader for Lazio in their loss to Juventus, scoring the consolation goal and trying to drive his teammates forward.

With yesterday’s goal, he has now directly contributed to 100 goals for Lazio – 44 goals and 56 assists – putting him just one behind Milinkovic-Savic, who left with 101 contributions.

Luis Alberto is now expected to play a leading role for the Biancocelesti in their Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid next week.
