Lazio Suffer Worst Start to Serie A Season in Two Decades

Lazio have looked painfully poor in the early weeks of the new season, producing their worst start in over two decades.

The Biancocelesti were forced to apologise to their supporters following their frustrating 1-1 draw with Monza on Saturday night, yet another lacklustre performance from Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

Patience is starting to wear thin with the Lazio squad after the team’s poor start to the season, which needs to be rectified fast before the top four race starts to take shape.

As highlighted by Opta Paolo, Lazio have suffered their worst start to a Serie A season in over 20 years, picking up just four points in their first five games. This matches their previous worst start back in the 2001-02 season, when they finished sixth in the table.

The Biancocelesti currently sit in the bottom half of the table, six points behind fourth place Juventus, piling the pressure on ahead of their coming matches.
