Sarri Keeps Faith in Immobile Despite Poor Lazio Form

Maurizio Sarri is convinced that Ciro Immobile will soon return to scoring ways, despite his slow start with Lazio this season.

The 33-year-old Italian striker has not looked himself in the early stages of the new campaign, scoring just two goals in 518 minutes of action across six total appearances. He dealt with injuries for the majority of last season and is still looking to find his stride again.

Lazio have looked poor this season, prompting Sarri to start searching for solutions in the Lazio squad, but one player in particular will continue to lead the line despite the doubts.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri will not start Valentin Castellanos in Immobile’s place despite the doubts surrounding the captain, believing the 33-year-old will turn things around soon.

Immobile has netted 198 goals in 303 games for the club and is desperate to start getting back on the scoresheet once again.
