Luis Alberto has officially signed a new contract with Lazio, tying him to the club until the summer of 2027.
The 31-year-old Spanish midfielder was at the centre of attention earlier in the summer after tensions erupted regarding the slow progress of contract talks, with the player keen on the inclusion of a small bonus.
Luis Alberto was linked with a possible move away from Lazio but eventually apologised and was reintegrated into Maurizio Sarri’s squad. Since the departure of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the 31-year-old Spaniard has grown into the standout star in the midfield.
As confirmed by Lazio, Luis Alberto has signed a four-year contract with the club, keeping him in the Italian capital until June 2027. He’s also been handed a significant pay raise, reflective of his importance to Sarri.
This season, Luis Alberto has scored two goals and provided two assists in eight appearances across Serie A and the Champions League.
