Toronto FC Star Insigne Offers to Lower Wages to Join Lazio

Lorenzo Insigne has reportedly offered himself to Maurizio Sarri and Lazio as he looks for a way out of Toronto FC.

The 32-year-old Italian winger, who made the jump to the MLS last year, has struggled to impress in his second season in Canada, scoring four goals and providing four assists across 19 league appearances.

Things started well for Insigne in North America, scoring six goals in 11 MLS games, but now the tide has started to turn in Toronto and fans have started to grow tired of the Italian forward, who was seen showing the middle finger to fans in the stands.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Insigne wants to return to Italy and has offered himself to Lazio, telling Sarri that he’d be willing to reduce his wages if needed in order to make the move to the Italian capital.

The Biancocelesti’s willingness to make a move depends on the future of Pedro, who could leave in the coming months with interest from both Tenerife and Saudi Arabia.

  1. It all depends on what he means by lowering his wages. If it’s not the same as or less than Pedro then forget it. He’s injured all the time.
