Lazio striker Ciro Immobile suffered an issue in the win over Celtic and could be forced to miss out on the upcoming game against Atalanta.
The 33-year-old Italian striker played 72 minutes of the Champions League outing in Scotland before being replaced by backup striker Valentin Castellanos, who joined from New York City FC in the summer.
Immobile has not looked his best in the early stages of this season, managing just two goals in 679 minutes of action across nine total appearances.
As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Immobile came off the pitch against Celtic carrying a flexor strain and will undergo a round of tests in the coming hours to determine the seriousness of the injury.
Should he be diagnosed with a muscle problem, the 33-year-old would be unavailable for the upcoming game against Atalanta as well as Italy’s two Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England.
Lazio hope that Immobile is simply suffering from muscle fatigue, which would allow him to sit on the bench against Atalanta.
