No Lazio Players Involved for Italy This International Break

Last month, five Lazio players made the cut for Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad but now none will feature in the October international break.

Ivan Provedel, Nicolo Casale, Alessio Romagnoli, Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni were all in Spalletti’s first Italy squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

The former Napoli coach is working to find his preferred team ahead of next summer’s European Championship. This break seems the Azzurri face Malta and England in two more qualifiers.

As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, none of the five Lazio players will be a part of the Italy squad for this international break.

Immobile, Provedel and Zaccagni have all been ruled out through injury, removing them from contention, and Spalletti decided not to call up Casale or Romagnoli.

Maurizio Sarri did not seem concerned when asked about this following the win over Atalanta, underlining how it allows the players to have a short break after a busy start to the season.
