Lazio Optimistic About Immobile Condition After Muscle Concern

Lazio are reportedly feeling optimistic about captain Ciro Immobile after his recent muscle injury scare.

The 33-year-old Italian striker was not in the squad for the Biancocelesti’s 3-2 win over Atalanta on Sunday after suffering a flexor muscle issue in the Champions League victory against Celtic.

Immobile was not called up by Luciano Spalletti for Italy’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England, giving the striker some time to work on his recovery.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), tests on Monday confirmed that Immobile didn’t suffer a muscle injury in his flexor, simply feeling some minor discomfort due to fatigue.

He will coach individually for the rest of the week and will be closely monitored by the club as he works to reach full fitness, keen to be available for Lazio’s busy period.

The Biancocelesti will play six matches across 23 days after the international break, a key part of the season for Maurizio Sarri’s side.
