Valentin Castellanos has started to excite Lazio fans and the bonuses in his contract show his ambitions in Rome.
The 25-year-old Argentinian striker joined the Biancocelesti from New York City FC in the summer, arriving in a deal worth around €20 million. His arrival was met with much anticipation in the Italian capital, with fans keen to finally have a new striker in the squad following Vedat Muriqi’s sale.
Castellanos shined in his second start for Lazio, scoring a goal and providing the key assist in the 3-2 win over Atalanta, showing numerous positives on the pitch. He is now expected to feature more often in the coming months, especially as Ciro Immobile works to reach full fitness.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Castellanos has two goal bonuses in his Lazio contract – one starting at 10 goals and the second starting at 20. He also has an assist bonus starting at 10.
The add-ons highlight the 25-year-old’s belief that he can continue to be a key contributor to the Biancocelesti in the coming seasons, and early signs suggest that he’s not wrong to think so.
