Kamada Working Closely With Sarri Over International Break

Daichi Kamada did not join up with Japan for the international break and is working closely with Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.

The 27-year-old midfielder has hit the ground running in Italy following his arrival on a free transfer in the summer, quickly proving himself an adequate replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Kamada has made eight appearances for Lazio this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in that time. He was left on the bench for the wins over Monza and Torino, and didn’t start in the last two matches against Milan and Atalanta.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Kamada was not called up by Japan for the international break due to a minor knee issue, which is why he hasn’t featured heavily for Lazio lately.

The 27-year-old has stayed in Rome and is now working closely with Sarri in Formello, keen to continue growing in the coach’s system.
