Lotito: ‘Immobile Contracted to 2026, Lazio Don’t Want to Sell’

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has underlined the club’s intentions to keep captain Ciro Immobile and made clear that there are ‘no offers or requests’.

The 33-year-old Biancocelesti striker recently noted his frustration with various criticisms he’s received in the early stages of this season, admitting that he ‘feels a little hurt’ considering his impressive history in the Italian capital.

Immobile has scored 198 goals in 306 appearances for Lazio since his arrival in 2016 but has struggled to show his best this campaign, scoring just twice in nine appearances. The arrival of backup striker Valentin Castellanos has increased the pressure on the club captain.

Speaking in an interview with Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lotito discussed Immobile’s recent interview and if the striker could leave for Saudi Arabia in the coming months.

I know nothing about Saudi Arabia, no one has ever asked me anything and I have not even had the inkling of possible interest. We’ve never asked ourselves about Ciro’s problem.

He vented more with some fans, with Lazio. Immobile has a contract until 2026 and the club have no interest in him leaving.

There is also a nice statement from Castellanos about him, so there is no rivalry.

Personally then I treat Ciro as if he were a son. There is little to evaluate if there are no offers or requests.

Then if he had a remote possibility of going, he certainly never made us aware of it. We don’t want to sell anyone.

In the summer, Immobile was reportedly targeted by some clubs in Saudi Arabia, who were seemingly willing to offer him a two-year deal worth €35 million net total, far more than he earns in the Italian capital.
