Lazio president Claudio Lotito was furious after the team’s Champions League loss to Feyenoord and questioned a transfer market decision.
The Biancocelesti were far off the mark in their third European outing of the season, falling in a painful 3-1 loss away to the Eredivisie side. Goals from Santiago Gimenez and Ramiz Zerrouki decided the match, with Pedro netting the consolation goal from the penalty spot late in the game.
The defeat leaves Lazio third in Group E after three games, a point behind Atletico Madrid and two behind Feyenoord. Their next clash with the Dutch side on 7th November is now vitally important for Maurizio Sarri and his squad.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lotito was incredibly angry by the nature of Lazio’s defeat to Feyenoord and was heard questioning transfer decisions, shouting down the phone: “Why didn’t we buy him in the summer?”, referring to Gimenez.
Backup striker Valentin Castellanos arrived from New York City FC in the summer in a deal worth around €20m, far cheaper than Gimenez would’ve been.
Forget about 4 3 3 ! The team you have suits better 352 442 hybrid. This system is high pushing or running in the middle but they don’t! They play a one two quick pass switch or up wing. This team needs the middle condensed bc u could have more options with the players you got. Anyway forza lazio just learn from ur mistakes laster tear we beat them 4 1 to start
Really?! He is the one questioning the transfer market decision!? He’s the one that bought nothing, he’s the one that sold Sergej, so I think he should look at himself and be enraged
