Patric Wins Lazio Love With Hard Work Over Last Eight Years

Over the last eight years with Lazio, Patric has proven himself to be a key part of the squad in the Italian capital.

The 30-year-old Spaniard won the hearts of Biancocelesti fans after a video went viral on social media, showing the defender staring at the ground waiting for Ciro Immobile to take the decisive penalty kick in the win over Fiorentina.

After the match, Patric was open about his feelings, saying: ‘I couldn’t watch, seeing you rejoice was beautiful’. Over the years, he has worked past the issues and transformed whistles in cheers, earning his spot in the Lazio squad.

Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) highlighted how Patric has proven himself an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad, being a reliable backup option who performs up to task when needed.

In the game against Fiorentina, the 30-year-old ran the most for Lazio at 11.32 kilometres, played the most passes in the squad with 59 and made seven recoveries.

  1. I did definitely like his performance and was more then respectable the way he filled in for Casale (from the dynamics he is actually quicker and a better pair in that sense to Romagnoli) however, I wasn’t aware of these numbers that for a back up CB are impressive and vital for a team very much in need against the side with the highest possession in Serie A this season if I’m not mistaken.

I loved you before this game Patric and you are cementing a name slowly but surely in Lazios history and the fans’ heart.
