Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has reportedly decided not to risk using Mattia Zaccagni in the upcoming Derby della Capitale against Roma.

The 28-year-old Italian winger caused concerns after being forced off the pitch in the 63rd minute of the 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday this week.

Whilst Lazio confirmed that Zaccagni avoided suffering any structural damage, he could still exacerbate the minor injury, so the club have not been willing to rush his recovery in Formello this week.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri will not risk any further injuries to Zaccagni, so will leave the winger out for Lazio’s coming Derby della Capitale against Roma.

As such, Pedro will start on the left side of the Lazio frontline alongside Ciro Immobile and Felipe Anderson.

Lazio also hope to recover Luis Alberto and Adam Marusic in time for the ever-tense clash with Roma, who suffered a painful 2-0 loss to Slavia Prague in the Europa League this week.
