Lazio’s Lazzari Called Up for Italy Euro 2024 Qualifiers

Lazio right back Manuel Lazzari has received a late call up for Italy’s final Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

The Azzurri currently sit third in their qualifying group and need to secure wins over their two opponents to automatically book their spot in next summer’s tournament. Falling short would leave them in the play-offs, something that conjures negative memories for Italy fans.

Lazio captain Ciro Immobile was left out of the Italy squad for their final two Euro 2024 qualifiers, leaving the 33-year-old striker hurt. Luciano Spalletti explained in his press conference that other strikers were ‘in better form’ than the Biancocelesti talisman.

As reported by TMW, Spalletti has decided to call up Lazzari after Milan captain Davide Calabria’s withdrawal through injury.

The 29-year-old Lazio full back made his Italy debut back in September 2018 under Roberto Mancini and has made just three caps over the last five years, with his last appearance coming against Argentina in the Finalissima last year.
